Dr Ghaly is a Consultant in Anaesthetics and Chronic Pain Management, and is Clinical Director of Anaesthesia, Intensive Care and Pain Services. He is an elected Governor, representing medical and dental staff on the Trust’s Foundation Board.
Dr Ghaly is on the Medical Council Specialist’s Register. He is a Honorary Senior Lecturer at the University of Central Lancashire. He is an examiner for the Primary Fellowship at the Royal College of Anaesthetists in Dublin, and overseas. He is an exchange examiner at the Royal College of Anaesthetists in London. He is also an examiner for the Fellowship in Pain Medicine at the College of Anaesthetists in Ireland.
Dr Ghaly has more than 45 publications in the medical literature and has presented many papers at scientific meetings. He has pioneering research in acupuncture in clinical practice. He is a peer reviewer for the British Journal of Anaesthesia, European Journal of Anaesthesia, and book reviewer for the British Journal of Anaesthesia. He is an invited lecturer to national and international meetings, and world congresses of anaesthesia. He is also an invited reviewer for anaesthetic and pain services in Ireland and overseas.
